United States-based Ghanaian defender Harrison Afful has made donation to the Save Them Young Mission orphanage in Ghana.
The Columbus Crew right-back donated soccer balls, new and used cleats, uniforms for the kids and other products. He also signed autographs and took pictures with the children.
The Save Them Young Mission is a non-governmental organization whose aim is to reach out to the underprivileged and train them to have a viable vocation in order to support themselves and become productive members of society.
Afful, a former Asante Kotoko player, joined MLS side Columbus Crew SC last July after refusing to extend his six-year stay with Esperance Sportive de Tunis where he won the African Champions League.
This event is part of Columbus Crew SC’s “Give Forward” – Formerly Dare to Care initiative, whose aim is to continue the club’s commitment to serving challenged youth, encouraging healthy and positive lifestyles and it was sponsored by MAPFRE Insurance.
